No Surgery Needed After Car Accident
I was in a car accident last year left my shoulders and knees injured and the only alternative given to me was to have surgery, which wasn’t an option with my work schedule. After working with Tim for several months I have improved greatly. The pain and swelling has reduced and my mobility has increased. I highly recommend Tim. - Jenell R.
Tim Needs to Clone Himself
I've had over 400 massages from 30-40 different massage therapists and Tim is far and away the best to work on me. Since moving from Portland 9 months ago, I've been trying to get Tim to clone himself because I can't find anyone in NY who even compares.
As a causal athlete who eats healthily and sees a naturopathic doctor, Tim was an invaluable part of maintaining a healthy body. Tim is masterful in his approach to working through trouble spots, helping reshape my posture and increasing flexibility...all while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and a friendly solid guy.
Be thankful that you've found this website, because you never have to search for a massage therapist again.

Tim is Amazing!
He focused his time with me on exactly what I requested. All of his treatments have had their unique focus which shows me he is constantly working with the needs of the moment. I feel very lucky to have found him! As an Acupuncturist, I know I can refer my patients to him and he will provide the best care possible. Thank you, Tim! Sincerely, - Joanna Flores, L.Ac., GroundSpring Healing Center, P.C. www.groundspring.net
Better Than...
Tim is by far better than Ibuprofen! - Jean M.
Go See Him Now!
My body always presents itself as a challenge to massage therapists. I work on a computer all day, so my neck and shoulders are tight. My lower back and hips are typically pretty cranky. Plus, I work out a lot - causing my body to typically feel sore all over (and especially in my neck, shoulders and lower back.) Tim, who I met a few years ago, is *wonderful.* To this day, he's the only person who can make the "knot" on my left shoulder relax and go away.
Although there are certain aspects of a "feel good" massage, make no mistake - his work is more therapeutic than warm-fuzzy. He's there to help fix you - not just make you feel good for 60 minutes. At the same time, I always experience the same level of relaxation after a massage session with Tim as I do after a "feel good" massage. Plus, the effects (such as my neck and shoulders feeling more relaxed, and a reduction in my lower back pain,) last for a number of days.
If you have any kind of recurring "issue" from sports, scoliosis, constant computer work or anything else, I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Tim. I even sent another friend in to see him who had been experiencing chronic pain - and she can't stop raving about him. Go see him. Now! The longer you wait, the longer you're going to feel that nagging pain that won't go away...

Master Massage Therapist
As a sports injury doctor I can tell you Tim Haster is "the man". His knowledge of anatomy far surpasses most therapists i have had contact with. I have seen dozens and Tim is the best of the best! His knowledge is only surpassed by his gifted hands. You will not be disappointed. We miss him in Olympia. Since he moved to Portland, our loss is your gain, take advantage of this guy!! - Dr. R. C. Evans
Fantastic Sports Therapist
As a group fitness instructor, I needed to continue exercising throughout my successful shoulder rehabilitation with Tim. He is a fantastic sports therapist because he understands this demand and the mental framework of athletes who suffer with persistent injuries. But besides healing my chronic shoulder injury, Tim gave me a precious gift. He helped me understand how healthy muscles work and the nature of healing at the source of an injury. I struggled through prior treatments that never healed my underlying injury, and because they failed they left me despairing that I might need surgery. I even avoided all treatment for a while and hoped time off would solve the problem. If you find yourself in this sort of predicament --- don't despair! Give your body a chance to heal itself through Tim's incredibly effective massage methods. You will feel empowered on this path, and you will learn so much! (I am one of those patients that needs to know what's going on. :-) Luckily, Tim is one of those therapists who enjoys explaining the healing process ... and he is very good at that, too!) -Ginny R.
Plantar Fasciitis Fix
I was hobbling around with plantar fasciitis and found Tim through a friend. He not only helped me with massages, but gave me exercises and living modifications that have me up and walking again. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. I am so glad I found him! -Joan P.
Long-lasting Effects
I visited Tim after being referred by a co-worker, who found relief from work related strain on her arms and hands. I am not able to enjoy a massage as frequently as I'd like, so I have to make it count when I do go in for a treatment. What I appreciated most was how long the effects lasted afterward. I have experienced many sessions with different massage therapists, where almost instantly after I am tense and in pain again. I felt like Tim really addressed some deep neck and shoulder pain that others have only superficially touched. The massage was relaxing, but most importantly EFFECTIVE! And that's the most you can ask of a massage! - Emma O.
Chronic Pain Gone!
After being diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my 20's, I began to have lower back pain. In my late 30's it began to be a life affecting issue so I made attempts to try and see what could be done to deal with it. After exhaustive diagnostic efforts, it was finally decided that I had arthritis in the lower back facet joint.
Various methods of medical procedures were attempted to reduce the pain. These included epidurals, injections in the site from a rheumatologist, chiropractic care, pain management and physical therapy. I was advised that no surgery could be done to help. The time and dollars spent had very little, if any, return on my investment.
I was referred to Tim by a Registered Nurse that I know. She had hurt herself lifting a patient and swore Tim could help me. After being so frustrated with my previous efforts I was a bit dubious but I was also tired of feeling like I had a bowling ball attached to my behind. So, off I went.
What a difference! I've been seeing Tim for over a year now. Early on we had weekly sessions but I have improved to the point that it is now a six or eight week time span between visits. In addition to his massage expertise, he has provided me exercises and tips to keep the pain at a much more manageable level. He is completely honest about how you can help yourself and is genuinely happy to see improvement in his patients. He works with his clients in partnership for better overall health. I feel fortunate to have found him and appreciate his capabilities in improving my situation

Intuitive Bodywork
Being a professional athlete, I am very picky when it comes to choosing a massage therapist. Tim gives more than a relaxing massage, but real bodywork that makes a difference in my performance. He is both informative and intuitive. I would highly recommend him! - Angela K.
If you want the best - this guy is it!
a knee problem causing spinal misalignment. Chiropractic helped but Tim cured this problem entirely in two(!) visits. Next a double rollover accident left me and wife with numerous complaints from whiplash to headaches and confusion. Tim explained how scar tissue was causing many of the ailments and introduced me to cross tissue massage. The work was intense and would have been difficult to complete without Tim's connection to what is going on with a patient. I think he has an intuitive "gift" that allows him to know what needs to be done and how to best accomplish it . Truly, if you want the best - he is definitely it. I would recommend him to anyone and bemoan the fact that he has moved to the Portland area as I no longer can find this quality a professional anywhere locally. - Bill S.
This guy's AMAZING!!!
I was rear-ended in a car accident on Hwy 217 last winter and started getting treatments from Tim within a week and continued for about 3 months. I had no clue how much the accident would effect my daily routine! (Also, auto insurance pays for massage - they just don't tell you that you have that option.) I had terrible neck and shoulder pain and severe headaches (made worse sitting at a computer all day). Tim was able to work his magic on my pain and it improved drastically! He was great at explaining what he was doing and why my body was reacting that way - I even got homework to do! I had stretches to do to help in between the times I saw him. Even after I finished seeing Tim for the accident, I continue to see him for other hip and mid-back pain caused by stress and repetitive motion strain (i.e. typing, computer work, poor posture, etc.) He's really helped me be more aware of ergonomics so I don't re-injure myself. I felt very comfortable and at ease due to Tim's professionalism - and I'm an attorney so the standards are high! I would highly recommend Tim to any one of my friends and family - and have! - Megan R.
Extremely Knowledgeable
Tim was extremely helpful both physically and "informationally" when he worked on my shoulder several months ago. He did an excellent job with the massage itself and explained how scar tissue had formed in my muscles. I dislocated my shoulder last year and have had a nagging pain ever since. There was absolutely no relief. Tim worked to "break up" the scar tissue and promote healing. The session was relaxing and therapeutic and I would highly recommend Tim. - Mike D.
Wow! I'm a believer!
I started seeing Tim last year for a shoulder problem. Three doctors and two MRI's later, and not only was I still in pain, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Tim immediately zero'd in on the problem, an old injury gone awry, and went to work. He is the only one who has been able to get rid of the pain! I highly recommend Tim; you won't be disappointed! - Ben K.
I can move again.
Tim is in a league of his own. I had back pain starting at the age of 22, at times I couldn't walk for a week at a time, now in my mid 40's I can move again thanks to Tim. For some people any massage is a good massage, but if you're looking for consistently focused, attentive, highly skilled hands that are never mediocre, go see Tim. I highly recommend paying a visit, it's wonderful. I'm certainly looking forward to my next appointment! - Liz H.
Best Orthomassage Therapist in Portland -- Hands Down
If you found Tim through Citysearch, don't even bother looking at other massage therapists' pages because you have found the best in Portland. I was born with a disability (arm and shoulder), so I've lived with pain my entire life. Seeking relief, I've seen at least a dozen different massage therapists, all of which claimed to have rehabilitative abilities but didn't, or at least nowhere near Tim's skill level. I was recently rear-ended in an auto accident and started experiencing pain and immobility that I had never had before in my neck, lower back, "good" shoulder and around my spine. My first therapy session with Tim did more to alleve my pain than any pain killer or muscle relaxant I've ever had -- yes, really. In addition to reducing the pain and increasing mobility due to my accident, Tim has helped me with issues stemming from my disability that I didn't think was possible. Tim has an almost psychic ability to locate the exact trigger points of pain or stiffness before I could get the words out. I don't know how he does it, I just know he does it better than anyone else. Tim knows the human body incredibly well and translates technical terms and conditions into layman's terms so you can understand what is going on with your body. Tim also provides you support outside of your sessions with him, he gave me exercises to do at home and at work. Tim effortlessly combines expertise with compassion to help you heal. Simply put, there is no one better.
